Mayor’s test protest

(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, March 29. Any person representing the French Government is now persona non grata in the office of the Mayor of Auckland (Sir Dove-Myer Robinson). He said that this was his gesture of disapproval against French nuclear tests in the Pacific. His view would change only when he received an assurance from France that it would stop testing in the Pacific. The French Conuslar-Agent in Auckland is the former Mayor of the city, Dr R. G. McElroy. He said today: “I have no comment to make. It does not affect me in the I slightest.”
