PRICES MOVE HIGHER AGAIN AS BUYERS RETURN
Selected shares showed good recoveries in active trading on New Zealand stock exchanges yesterday as buying pressure made itself felt again after being pent-up before the announcement of the Government's economic regulations.
Price increases were widespread but the leaders stood out with the best gains. Alex Harvey at 353 c was 8c higher I Feltex moved up another 3c to 393 c. New Zealand Brew-! eries at 114 c and Wattie at 128 c regained 3c each. The finance companies firmed with U.D.C. standing out 9c higher at 212 c. Broadlands and C.S.I. edged up a cent each and A.G.S. improved 2c. With the exception of Haywrights which fell'3c lower to 82c the retailers were I firmer. Beaths at 60c rose 2c. Smith and Brown gained 4c to 157 c and F.T.C. gained 1c to 115 c. i Falls were small among the
leaders being mainly of 1c — : Fletcher Holdings. Golden Bav. N.Z.M.C. and N.Z. Steel I and Waitaki eased this amount. I South British lost 3c to '353c.
