Parliamentary boycott

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) KINGSTON (Jamaica), March 23. Jamaica’s new Prime Minister (Mr Michael Manley), the leader of the People's National Party, pledged his Government to work for “planned, rational and intelligent change” when he addressed the opening session of Parliament yesterday. The aim, he said, was the creation of a land of social justice. Members of the Opposition Jamaica Labour Party, which had formed the Government since Independence in 1962, boycotted the session “in protest against the reign of terror and intimidation unleashed by P.N.P. supporters since election day throughout the country.’’
