MOTH SKIPPERS TO TRAVEL
The former national title-holder, M. E. Seiwood, wiD lead an experienced contingent of International Moth class skippers from Canterbury to the New Zealand championships in Dunedin at Easter week-end.
Seiwood’s duels for ascendancy with G. Wiig (Napier) have been a feature of major Moth events over the last few seasons and their rivalry will be resumed in Dunedin.
Three years ago Wiig was a. convincing winner in his home waters. Seiwood reversed the roles with a victory at Pigeon Bay in 1970 but Wiig built up a large points advantage when he led home the fleet in four of the heats at Auckland 12 months ago. Because of the world series having been allocated to Napier next January, it is expected that the top Moth skippers from throughout the country will accept the chance of obtaining further experience ■at championship
In addition to Seiwood, prominent Canterbury yachtsmen intending to travel south include S. Loader, H. Hobden, A. M. Holland, T. Blanchard, W. Popenhagen and M. Ross.
