Ellesmere Gun Club
Good marksmanship waa a feature of the opening day ct the Ellesmere Gun Club’s 1973 trap shooting season at the week-end. The scoring started well when 12 possibles were shot in the eye-opener. The successful shooters were A. A. Peterson, A. A. Greenwood. I. Winchster, A. W. C. McPherson, J. Tate, F. Everett, A. Cowie, M. Thian, E. R. F. Donald, R. H. Washbourne. K. F. Chambers, and W. D. M. West. The contest for a trophy given by the president of the club (Mr C. H. Greenwood) was the main event Six shooters with all on were A. A. Greenwood, A. Cowie, M. Thian, R. H. Washbourne, S. R. Maw, and W. D. M. WMt Cowie won the shoot-off, with Maw as runner-up. In a 10-target guncrack the aliens were Peterson, Greenwood, W. L. Gabble, Winchester, J. Tate. R. H Washbourne, and West. The only possible In a flve-pait double-rise was scored by P. G. Washbourne, while Thian and Chambers each scored nine. Thian won a priie for best aggregate over three events, with West second.
