WELLINGTON, March 8.
Of the $621.4m c.i.f. value of imports for the six months ended December, 1971, goods valued at $193.9m (31.2 per cent) were imported under import licences, the Government Statistician (Mr J. P. Lewin) said today.
This included goods valued at $24.2m imported under 1970-71 licences and $169.7m under 1971-72 licences. He said goods valued at $375.5m (60.4 per cent) were imported as goods exempt from licence, $37.5m (6 per cent) as Government imports and sl4.snj (2.3 per cent) under no-remittance schemes.#
