Passenger killed

WELLINGTON, Mar. 8.
A passenger in a car was killed in a motor accident at Wainuiomata today when the car swerved into a power pole near the Homedale shopping centre. He was Patrick Gillie Hawkins, aged 18, a watersider, of Wainuiomata. The driver, aged 15, was not injured and soon after appeared in the Lower Hutt Children’s Court where he pleaded guilty to dangerous driving causing death, unlawfully taking a motor car and driving without a licence. He was remanded in custody until March 17. The car -was torn in half by the impact.
