(N.Z.P.A.-Keuter— Copyright) EAST LONDON.

The touring New Zealand women’s cricket teain yesterday cruised to a comfortable seven-wicket win in its twoday match against a South African XI.

The South Africans, dismissed for only 41 in their first innings, put up a more spirited display in collecting 226 in the second.

They resumed at 72 for two, with the captain, L. Clifford, and L. Mennell continuing to bat steadily. C. Early, however, made the vital break-through when the third-wicket stand was worth 63. Thereafter wickets fell regularly to her and J. Saulbrey. Set to make 104 to win with four hours left for play, the tourists cantered quietly to the required figure. Scores: South African XI 41 and 226 (L. Clifford 66; C. Early 4/31, J. Saulbrey 3/24), New Zealand 164/5 declared and 104/3.
