Boral profit falls 13%
The group net profit of Boral, Ltd, fell about $401,000 or 13 per cent, to $2,750,000 in the six months to December 31. The net trading profit was $733,000, or about 31 per cent, higher at $3,099,000, but this was reduced by extraordinary items. The provision for taxation rose $191,000 to $2,839,000 and the provision for depreciation was $261,000 higher at $2,356,000. The interim dividend has been increased from 5Jc to 6{c a share (12J per cent), payable April 30, ex dividend March 28.
