Profit rise for Burns, Philp
(N.Z. Press ASsn.—Copyright) SYDNEY, Mar. 9. The estimated net profit of Bums, Philp, and Company, Ltd, rose 11.7 per cent in the half-year to December 31. The directors qualify the estimated profits on the ground that results of the merchandise trading operations — the largest aait of the company’s activities — are based on an estimated gross return on sales. Merchandise sales increased 14.9 per cent. As dates for payment of dividends have been changed, the directors will not declare an interim until after the March board meeting of the company.
