DULL PERFORMANCE BY KEY STOCKS RESTRAINS MARKET
Although rises outnumbered falls on New Zealand stock exchanges yesterday the market was restrained by the performance of the leading shares—a number of small rises were offset by largr falls
Strength was shown by some of the less active stocks Crothall continued to improve I with sales 5c higher at 230 c and firm quotations. Freightways rose another 2c to 135 c in quite heavy trading and Brambles-Bumett was marked up 1c to 73c. Mount Cook, Tasman (ex ' dividend) and A. M. Bisley, improved 3c each and L. D. Nathan was 4c higher at 190 c after a trading gap.
Fletcher, U.E.B. and Wat-! tie showed little change, to 75c. Marac rights were steady at 80c. Finance company shares ac-; counted for four out of the 19 fails. I
I New Zealand Insurance was 1 marked down 4c to 328 c and Feltex was 3c lower at 390 c. | Australian industrials weakened in line with the 'home market.
