Official to transfer
Mr E. N. Strachan, a member of the New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association’s council and chairman of its management committee, will transfer to Wellington at the end of this month to take up a new position with his employer, the Commercial Bank of Australia.
Mr Strachan Joined the council in 1969 shortly after he came to Christchurch and for the last two years he has been the finance committee chairman.
Mr Strachan represents the Wellington centre on the council and he said yesterday that he hoped to gain a place on that centre’s management committee. Mr Strachan is secretary of the 1974 Commonwealth Games swimming committee and he will also resign from this position.
