Metreveli, the fourth seed, is a quarter-finalist in the men’s singles, and Miss V. Wade (Britain), is in the semifinals of the women’s singles. Men’s singles.—K. Rosewall (Australia) beat J. P. Meyer (France), 6-4, 6-4, 6-2; R. Crealy (Australia) beat C. Dibley (Australia), 6-4, 7-6, 6-3; M. Anderson (Australia) beat N. A. Fraser (Australia), 6-2, 6-3, 6-2. Women’s singles.—Miss Wade beat Miss P. Coleman (Australia), 6-2, 6-2; Miss E. Goolagong (Australia) beat Miss B. Hawcroft (Australia), 6-1, 3-6, 6-0; Miss, K. Harris (Australia) beat Mrs G. Chanfreau (France), 6-3, 7-6; Miss H. Gourlay (Australia) beat Miss O. Morozova (Russia), 6-1, 6-2.
