CYCLIST INJURED

J. H. Chesmar, a Canterbury representative in both cycling and roller skating, is to retire from the latter sport. But his more intensive involvement in cycling met a set-back on Tuesday evening when Chesmar crashed in Lyttelton. He had been training round the bays and was entering Lyttelton when the driver of a stationary car opened the door. Chesmar tried to take evasive action, but his handlebars just caught the door and as his cycle skidded, the front tyre blew out and Chesmar went over the top. He smashed three teeth and lias had another removed, and has grazed shoulders and right arm.
