Recipe for leaders
What makes a guide leader? The Chief Commissioner (Mrs W. G. Turnbull) says the recipe is simple. These are her ingredients: loz common sense, loz of liking for girls, loz of enthusiasm. loz of willingness to learn.
This is Mrs Turnbull’s reply to adults who shy away from responsibility and say they know nothing about guiding when invited to become leaders.
“Even if you are only one step ahead of the girls you are still a leader,” she added in her report to the annual meeting of the Girl Guides’ Association yesterday.
