Decision left to Chappell

(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) BRISBANE. Australia’s captain, I. M. Chappell, has found himself in a difficult position in the unofficial test against the Rest of the World XI, which will end today.

The World Xi’s declartion at 285 for four yesterday—lo 4 runs behind Australia’s 389 for four declared—has tossed the ball to Chappell.

When a thunder storm lashed the ground an hour after tea, ending play for the day, Australia had lost its opening batsman, B. Francis, for a total of 21 runs. Rain has so far robbed the match of 686 minutes.

The World XI started the fourth day at 162 for one and lost the wickets of R. B. Kanhai, Z. Abbas and H. Ackerman for 189 runs in 138 minutes.

Kanhai and Ackerman each scored centuries and shared in a second-wicket stand of 158. It was Kanhai's thirtieth first-class century. He batted for 200 minutes and hit 16 fours. Ackerman’s innings occupied 269 minutes, with 11 fours.

. Abbas’s lean streak continued; he was brilliantly caught in the covers by A. P. Sheahan after playing only five balls.
