Bugner’s jaw broken

Joe Bugner, the former British, European and Commonwealth heavy-weight champion. broke his jaw during his defeat by the American, Larry Middleton, on Wednesday. his manager, Mr A. Smith, said. Bugner, who was to have met another American, Ted Gulluck, on December 7, will not fight again this year. Mr Smith said: "The injury occurred during the third round when Joe took a good right hand from Middleton. At the end of the round his jaw was badly swollen, but he decided to box on.”
