Report on air crash
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Nov. 29. Loss of control stemming from an undetermined circumstance was the assigned cause of the crash of a Nelson Aero Club Piper aircraft in which two men died on June 30, according to the report of the Office of Air Accidents Investigation. The pilot, Anthony Riley King, and the student pilot under instruction, Stuart James Angus, were killed. The report said that the plane rejoined the landing circuit at the top of the downwind leg of the Nelson airport, and had been cleared by air traffic control to land on grass vector No. 20. When the plane reached a position at the bottom of the downward leg, several witnesses saw the aircraft pitch nose downward in' a very steep dive into shallow water.
