Child dies in crash

A child was killed in a collision on a bridge three miles north of Okato at 10 a.m. yesterday. She was
Rachael Mary Sewell, aged 17 months, a passenger in a car driven by her father, Mr Ashley Eric Sewell, of New Plymouth.
Mr Sewell and his wife, Mrs Deborah Sewell, were admitted to New Plymouth Hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the other vehicle, Mr Clive George Morton, of New Plymouth, and a passenger, Mr Chris Hickey, of Opunake, were also slightly injured.
