ASHLEY Rangiora has taken tht> sole lead in the Ashley senior cricket competition, after it had an outright win against Fernside and took its points total to 56—‘four points ahead of the nearest team, Kaiapoi. Oxford 167/5 declared (R. Judson 83 not out) and 95/3 (R. Frahm 27 not out) drew with Kaiapoi 167/7 declared and 110/9 declared (C. Merrin 33 not out). Fernside 56 and 95 lost outright to Rangiora 186/7 declared. Ohoka 100 and 259/4 (H. Joyce 109 not out) drew with Woodend 222/6 declared. HURUNUI Cheviot continues to stave off challenges for the number one position in the senior Hurunui cricket competition and has now led the competition for the last four rounds. Cheviot was not completely dominant against Kaikoura bn Saturday, however, and it was only the count-back of bonus points that gave Cheviot victory. * Kaikoura 165/7 (P.
