THE LURE OF GOLD.—Modern equipment is enabling two Wellington technicians to recover gold which wits inaccessible to earlier gold miners—wet suits for warmth in the cold mountain rivers, and a small motor-driven suction dredge. Working beneath the surface, the men, Messrs J. O’Reilly and D. Dumas, dredge the deep holes where gold still lies. Mr Dumas is shown sifting through deposits in his pan while Mr O’Reilly holds a jar of their hard-earned bounty.
