Appeal for camera touches thief
*Tm the guy who stole your camera. It’s behind some trees in Svdenham Park.” Mrs E. Mason, wife of Mr H. Mason, a photographer in New Brighton, received this message by telephone last evening. She notified the police, went to Sydenham Park, and, after a short search, found her husband’s stolen camera, valued at $2OO, and 12 rolls of film in a bag behind a tree. “It restores my faith in
human nature,” said Mr Mason, who was at a meeting at the time of the anonymous telephone call. “It wasn’t the camera I was really worried about, just the films, which were taken at several functions, including a twenty-first birthday.” The camera and film were stolen from Mr Mason’s car on Saturday night, and he appealed in “The Press” yesterday to the person responsible to return at least the film.
