Smoking and example
Sir, — I endorse the remarks made by Dr Hay and Patrick Neary about “an example being set by important personages smoking before the general public.” Would Dr Hay please start a campaign much nearer his own territory, among the staff of the hospital: first, doctors, nursing, technical and clerical workers; then patients who are allowed to pollute the wards and waiting rooms, giving no thought to the non-
smokers who only ask for good clean air.—Yours, etc., SUFFERER. November 29 ,1971.
