Land sought for college
The Teachers’ College branch of the Post-Primary Teachers’ Association and the Teachers’ College Association are to ask the Department of Education to buy more land adjacent to the secondary division of the college at Ham. The secondary division is situated now on -26 acres in Dovedale Avenue. The adjacent land is zoned for housing development. The chairman of the Teachers’ College Council (Professor H. E. Field) said it was obvious that 26 acres was not very much for the two colleges and associated hostels.
