13 in shield squad
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. The selection of a thirteenth man, the Hutt Valley batsman, B. Coley, is the main surprise of the Wellington Plunket Shield cricket side for the 1971-72 series. The squad is: B. E. Congdon (captain), L. J. Therkleson, G. A. Newdick, B. A. G. Murray, J. F. M. Morrison, J. D. Riley, J. V. Coney, Coley, B. D. Smith, W. A. Greenstreet, G. T. McConnell, R. O. Collinge, B. R. Taylor. Coley and the 19-year-old Coney are the only players in the squad yet to play in shield cricket.
