Police go to house
Members of the armed offenders squad and a large number of police cars and policemen surrounded a house in Hornby about 9 p.m. yesterday, and about three hours later a man was taken into custody. No shots were fired during the incident, which police say had been “brewing” for about 24 hours but the man was admitted to hospital apparently suffering from an overdose of drugs.
Information received had led to a close eye being kept on the house and police spoke to a man several times on the telephone before entering the house.
