Fellowships in music
Two Christchurch musicians, Miss G. Drummond (organ) and Miss F. Scrivener (singing) have been awarded fellowships by the Trinity College of Music. Miss Drummond, who is a Mus.B., and who holds an F.T.C.L. and L.R.S.M. in pianoforte, is a teacher at Hillmorton High School. She began learning the organ in 1968 while she was a student at the Christchurch Teachers’ College. Her interests include the training of a junior and senior choir of The Salvation Army, and singing with the Christchurch Harmonic Society. Miss Scrivener teaches music and English at ?apanui High School, and is a member of the Christchurch Harmonic Society choir and chorale. She first learnt singing with Sister Mary Michael at St Mary’s Covent in 1967, and gained L.T.C.L. at the end of 1968. She is a pupil of Mrs Joan Davies and is also completing, a Mus.B. in music education at the University of Canterbury.
