Gay Jillian dies
Gay Jillian, the winner ofl seven races for Mr L. M. andj Mrs E. A. Harvey, of Methven, died while foaling twins on her owners’ property last Sunday. - Gay Jillian, a 17-year-old mare by Gav Piper from Jillian, also lost her two foals, both colts, by Tuft. “One appeared as if it might have been dead for some time,” said Mr Harvey yesterday. None of Gay Jillian’s progeny have yet raced, but Mr Harvey hopes to qualify her 1966 foal, Jillinda, a mare by ; Johnny Globe, at the next Methven trials.
