SCOUTS AND GUIDES
Queen’s award for 136 (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Sept 8. A gathering of 136 Queen’s Scouts and Queen’s Guides have been presented to the Governor-General (Sir Arthur Porritt) and received their badges and certificates. To gain the award, the group—aged between 17 and <l9—had to pass tests in service, personal achievement, scout craft and citizenship. They were addressed by the Prime Minister (Sir Keith Holyoake), outside Parliament House before marching to Government House.
