Mothers to meet

Lady Porritt will! officially open and address the forty-fourth. national council confer, ence of the League of' Mothers of New Zealand, in Christchurch on September 21. Before the conference; opens, the Canterbury provincial league will hold an (evening reception on September 20 for visiting delegates and observers. This function will be at the Girl Guide Hall, but the business sessions will be held at Methodist centre, Aldersgate. After her address on the Tuesday morning. Lady Porritt will present badges to five past national presidents, have coffee with delegates and meet as many as possible. The national president (Mrs I. M. Meikle) will present Lady Porritt with a gift before she leaves. The conference has a heavy agenda, particularly on the first day, which has a special session on remits in the evening.
