Outside movement
“State servants eventually Will receive an adjustment arising from the movement in outside rates from April, 1971, to April, 1972. “This also will be paid in full, regardless of the amount and will be back-dated to October 15, 1971.” Mr Taiboys said the Government believed that to accept the claims of the C.S.S.O. would place State servants in a privileged position compared with other wage and salary earners, and it was not prepared to do this. He said the new rates would be paid as soon as possible.
