University assured of table tennis title

University I assured itself of the winter A grade inter-club table tennis competition when it overwhelmed the' second pieced Riccarton It team, 12-0, last evening. With two rounds remaining. University I has a six point lead over the next team.

With two South . Island representatives, Ling Nan Ming and Loke Sim Wong, and two Canterbury players, Yeoh Keat Chie and Wong Chee Kong, in the team, it is little wonder that University has dominated dub table tennis in the last three seasons. In the biggest upset of the round, Riccarton I defeated the third placed side, Avonside I, 7- The dependable J. Armstrong won his three singles comfortably, and he received the necessary assistance from the junior, W. Adamson, who excelled in beating the ninth-ranked Canterbury player, M. R. Spinks. Selwyn moved into third position after winning all its 12 matches against the bottom team, Unwood. Dalllngton and Wallabies gained their expected wins over Avonside II and University n, respectively.
