Assembly of cars begins

NELSON, Sept. 7. The assembly of four British cars began this week at the new plant of Motor Assemblies; Ltd, in Nelson. The cars are three Jaguar XJ6 saloons the 4.2-litre automatic, the 2.8 litre automatic and the 2.8-litre manual with overdrive and the Daimler .Sovereign. / / Previously, they have been imported built up from Britain. The cars are all in the $BOOO to $9500 price range. The Minister of Industries and Commerce (Mr Shelton) this morning drove the first Jaguar off the assembly line to mark the occasion.
