Dusky Bay has lead after second round
Dusky Bay ridden by Mrs G. West won the second round oi the Peerless mini-circuit and retained the Peerless Points Leader Sash with a total of 15 points after the second event In the Peerless mini-circuit—the Rangiora Pony Club’s annual show jumping, held at the Rangiora show grounds on Sunday. In the first event, held at Kaiapoi, Dusky Bay won the sash with eight points, followed closely by the former open racehorse, Shakes, ridden by 1. Bourne. In the second event J. Bourne remained a close contender for the sash finishing only two points behind Dusky Bay. In the pony ring, Hl-Lyte ridden by Miss J. McLean also retained the sash which she bad won in the first round with 10 points. Hl-Lyte gained five more points in the second event to finish two points ahead of Gay Prince ridden by Miss A. Wightman. In the jump-off for the Improver horses, R. McCracken on Danny Boy overcame stern opposition to win his class with a clear round after Perth, ridden by Miss J. Cresswell made several jumping faults when riding against the clock.
