Go-between in drug supply

AUCKLAND, September 7. An IS-year-old youth, Paul Bruce Emirali, who acted as a go-between in a $2OOO cannabis deal, said that he received only f oz of marijuana as reward, said Sergeant T. Cottam in the Magistrate’s Court at Auckland today.
Emirali, an unemployed clothing manufacturer, admitted a charge that on or about July 31 he supplied Stephen Leslie Robert Castle with cannabis. Emirali (Mr L. W. Brown, Q.C.), was remanded in custody until September 14 for a probation report An application for suppression of his name was declined. LARGE QUANTITY Sergeant Cottam said that on August 13 the Wellington drug squad had arrested Emirali for possession of a large quantity of cannabis. Emirali had told the police that some weeks before he had met a man in Albert Park (Auckland) who had told him he had a large quantity of marijuana for sale. nabis made up in 11b lots wrapped in plastic bags. The asking price was $4OO per lb. $3OOO INVOLVED After the transaction had been made, it was discovered that the 11b lots in fact weighed 12oz. Emirali returned to Auckland, where the difference was made up. The transaction was then completed by way of moneyorder telegram. The total involved was $2OOO. 1 Emirali bad asserted that he had received only joz of marijuana as reward for the transaction.
