Adjunct to big fixture
Unbeaten in the last three years, the North Canterbury senior B representative Rugby side will play Nelson Bays Colts at Hagley No. 2 tomorrow afternoon at 12.30 p.m. The match has been arranged as an adjunct to the main fixture between Canterbury and Nelson Bays at Lancaster Park. In its last match against Ellesmere three weeks ago, North Canterbury won, 14-11, after a flurry of tries in the last 10 minutes. The North Canterbury captain, D. Lamb, an inspiring leader, has been in great form. Lamb will be well supported by the rest of his solid and mobile forward pack averaging 14st 71b. B. Gibson and I. Hamilton are skilful backs, while R, Taylor has been a master of tactics at full-back. Nelson Bays is reputed to have a talented, three-quarter line, but will need to contain the heavy, North Canterbury pack to make the most effective use of its potential.
