E. Pakistan Governor

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) RAWALPINDI, Sept. 2. Dr A. M. Malik had been appointed Civil Governor of East Pakistan to replace General Tikka Khan, the martial law Governor, it‘was officially announced in Rawalpindi. Dr Malik, aged 66, described as an East Pakistani, will take up his office in Dacca on September 3. The Government said that Dr Malik will recqmmend the nafnes of members of his council of ministers to President Yahya Khan for approval as soon as possible. Dr Malik is at present the President’s special assistant for displaced persons, supervising and co-ordinating relief and rehabilitation in East Pakistan. I
