EVENT FOR SHOOTERS
Shooters from throughout Canterbury are expected to compete in an all-day shoot at the Ashburton Gun Club’s range, off Alford Forest Road, on Sunday. One of the main events will be the double-rise championship for a sash and challenge cup. The president of the Ashburton Club (Mr R. Brown) will defend his title in this shoot. The other event will be the T.A.A. qualifying match, for New Zealand' Gun Club members affiliated with the local club. The winner will represent the club at the South Island T.A.A. finals.
At these finals, the New Zealand team to compete in Australia will be chosen.
Sunday’s programme will also include a 10-bird trophy match, in which shooters will fire off handicap marks.
