School fencing
Auckland fencers took all the major places in the individual and team events at the national secondary schools* fencing championships in Christchurch at the week-end. Results were:— Individual.—Boys Foil: D. Egglestone (Auckland) 1, D. Boston (Auckland) 2. G. Buswell (Auckland) 3. Sabre: G. Buswell (Auckland) 1, D. Egglestone (Auckland) 2, B. Garland (Canterbury) 3. Girls—Foil: E. Te Uira (Auckland) 1, K. Bell (Auckland) 2, J. Poka (Auckland) 3. Teams.—Boys—Foil: Auckland A 1, Auckland B 2, Canterbury A 3. Sabre: Auckland 1, Canterbuty 2.
