PAY FOR PILOTS
Allegations denied (N.Z. Press Association) i WELLINGTON. Sept. 1. The Minister of Transport (Mr Gordon) yesterday rejected allegations by the secre- ( • tary of the Airline Pilots’ Association (Captain J. W. Dickinson) that misleading statements were made in answer to the question in Parliament. H The question had asked:). “Is the N.A.C. pilots’ current: ■work to rule because of pay) rates, and) if so, what are! the current salary rates fori captains and their conditions! )of work?” Replying on behalf of the! Minister of Transport, the! Minister of Lands and For-! fests (Mr Maclntyre) had said:! “Basically, it is a protest at lack of negotiation on rates* of pay, among other matiters?’ He then proceeded to ; give the basic pay N.A.C. j J captains at present received. ■Mr Gordon said. Captain Dickinson challenged the Minister’s reply: yesterday. “These figures were supplied by the National Airways Corporation,” Mr Gordon said. “It has been confirmed that they are accurate, and I therefore stand by them.”
