Wage rise agreement
(N.Z. Press Association! HAMILTON, Sept. 1. New Zealand Forest Products, Ltd, has agreed to a 9i per cent wage increase for 4500 employees at Kinleith, Penrose, Whakatane and Mataura. This claim, and another for a 7 per cent bonus payment increase, now will go to the Remuneration Authority for consideration. The bonus was offered to settle the issue after Forest Products refused to agree to an increase of more than 9| per cent. Pulp and Paper Federation officials said today. The employees will have the increase as from July 1, but the bonus will not become effective until the agreement is settled.
