Bell profit steady Bell Radio • Television Holdings, Ltd earned group net profit of $113,669 in the year to March 31, the directors announced in a preliminary report. The result, not yet audited, compares with $114,108 the year before. The directors recommend a final dividend of 10 per cent, making an unchanged 15 per cent for the year; it will be paid on September 30; ex (dividend September 17.

Holt profit up 25%

The audited net profit of Robert Holt and Sons, Ltd, rose 24.8 per cent to! $326,994 in the year to June 30, the directors announced yesterday. They intend to pay a final dividend of 7 per cent wholly out of capital reserves and therefore not taxable in shareholders’ hands. It makes an unchanged total of 10 per cent, payable on October 12. ex October 4. Robert Holt is the Napier sawmiller who recently merged with Carter Consolidated to form Carter 'Holt Holdings, Ltd.

Sydney wool sale

The Sydney wool sales opened with bidding much brisker, but buying sources said values were little changed. Japanese buyers were very active on this, the second day, and although the Australian wool commission was also prominent, the feeling among brokers was that the off-take at the beginning of the sale was less than on Tuesday.

Emperor Gold The Emperor Gold Mining Company, Ltd, Sydney, milled 70,839 tons of ore for a yield of 19,573.10 z of gold in the 12 weeks to June 30. The company spent a total of $729,966 on exploration and prospecting in the quarter.
