fN.Z. Press Association) MELBOURNE, August 31. The Australian Council of Trade Unions (A.C.T.U.) launched a campaign here today for a $7O minimum weekly wage for all Australian workers.

Delegates to the biennial congress of the A.C.T.U.— supreme body of Australian trade unions—voted unanimously in favour of the minimum wage demand.

The campaign will also seek a scale of basic wages, rising to $l4O a week for tradesmen.

The congress is meeting at a suburban school in Melbourne.

No national minimum wage exists at present in Australia. According to Federal Government figures, the average weekly minimum payable in April this year was $57.54 based on a survey of industrial awards.
