Press Association) J WELLINGTON, Sept. 1. ,i The Royal New Zealand Air Force transport squadron operating in the Far East from Singapore, No. 41 Squadron, will beign to move : from its present base at Changi to Tengah today. > The move is part of the re--7 location of New Zealand forces in Singapre with the s withdrawal of British forces, i The withdrawal will be I completed on November 1 when command of forces in ■ the area is passed from the : commander-in-chief of the British Far East Command , to the commander of the ■ A.N.Z.U.K. forces. t > The move of the squadron ■ to Tengah, about 30 miles i from Changi, will be com- ! pleted on September 15, I when the command of Tengah • passes from the Royal Air Force to the Singapore Air s Defence Command. Tengah : has been the R.A.F. Strike Command base in Singapore i and will be shared jointly by > A.N.Z.U.K. units and the t Singapore Air Defence Comi mand. The New Zealand squadron i has been flying from Changi i since 1955.
