Close competition in gymnastic titles
(N.Z. Press Association) ,' WELLINGTON. Close competition of a high standard continued to mark the New Zealand gymnastic championships when the second day of the three-day event was held yesterday at Lower Hutt. In contrast to the opening day, which consisted of compulsory sections of grades, yesterday's programme included mostly voluntary exorcises.
Another big crowd saw numerous displays of finely; balanced gymnastics from all grades when three sessions were held yesterday. R. Lee (Wellington) continued his consistency of the first day and won first place over-all in the voluntary event of the youths’ A grade. On Tuesday, he won the compulsory section of the grade.
Lee’s younger brother, K. Lee, also won the voluntary section of the junior boys’ grade to follow up his win In the compulsory section. Competitors in the men’s and Women's A grades, who thrilled the crowd on Tuesday evening with their compulsory exercises, will complete their sections with
