The two teams leading in pool B of the New Zealand Colts hockey tournament, Auckland and Wellington, drew their match 2-2, in a rugged encounter at Invercargill yesterday afternoon. The centre half, P. Lawson, and the inside left, R. Patel, scored for Auckland, while Wellington’s goals came from the Inside left, T. McCracken, and the left wing, T. Trevena-Brown. In a morning match, Auckland beat Southland, 5-1, after being down 0-1 at half-time. The two leading teams in pool A, Canterbury and Otago, played this afternoon to decide the winner of the pool. Otago held Canterbury, the present champion, to 0-0 at halftime, but the second half saw Canterbury with a decided territorial advantage, and it won* 2-0. Yesterday’s matches decided the winners of the two pools. Canterbury won pool A with 10 points, followed by Otago 7. Eastern Districts 6, Taranaki 4, Manawatu 3, and Southern Districts North 0. .
