S.I. under-16 soccer (N.Z. Press Association i INVERCARGILL. Otago won the Herbert Smith Trust Shield when it beat Southland, 1-0. at the South Island under 16 schoolboys’ soccer tournament at Invercargill yesterday. Southland won the Minor Associations Cup. Results:— Canterbury 15, Southland Country Schools 1; Otago 1. Southland 0; North Otago 3, South Canterbury 0; Nelson 4, Marlborough 2; Southland 2, North Otago 0; Otago 4, Marlborough 0. The South Island team to play The Rest will be named today. Under 14 tournament With six wins in six matches, Otago is well placed to win the South Island under 14 soccer tournament at Mosgiel, Dunedin. In the final round to be played today, Otago needs only to draw with Canterbury to win the competition. If it loses, it will probably have to play South Canterbury in a decider. Results:—
