Escaper at motel

A prisoner who escaped from custody at Christchurch Hospital about 12.45 p.m. on Monday is now known' to have spent Tuesday night in a motel in New Brighton. A positive sighting of him was reported at 7.30 yesterday morning.

The escaper, Louis Leslie John Harrison, aged 32, is believed to be in possession of a grey 1955 Morris Oxford car with the registration number A 57533. Harrison is now wearing a fawn, hand-knitted jersey over a burnt orange poloneck jersey, light grey trousers, black or navy-blue reefer jacket, and "black shoes.

A number of other people have reported seeing Harrison but these have not been regarded as positive sightings.
