(N.Z Press Assn.—Copyright) LONDON, September 1. Mr Roy Brooks, a property agent whose addiction to truth made him a British institution, has died, at the age of 55. A typical Brooks advertisement once offered “a glum attic flat for rich midgets,” and still, sold it. Another classic: “Rundown Victorian relic, back bedroom suitable only for dwarf,” attracted 30 would-be buyers. Mr Brooks began his agency in 1934 and built it into one of the largest in London. His partner, Mr Anthony Halstead said: “Roy always believed an estate agent should take a solemn oath of honesty. We will keep up that policy, but have no-one to match his talent for amusing ads.” •
