Closely mixed trading on quiet market

All sections of Australian stock exchanges weree closely mixed yesterday. Buying and selling support dwindled, and volume was well below normal.

Kathleen Investments fell 5c to 395 c, but Queensland Mines rose 10c to 400 c. Metals Ex. firmed 5c to 475 c, and W.M.C. put on 2c to 332 c.

Whim Creek picked up 20c on its last sale to trade at 460 c. Seicast rose 3c to 165 c, and Lefroy firmed 4c to 60c. Mareeba, Westmex and B.H. Sth eased marginally. Woodside was marked back 5c to 130 c, and Mid East Oil dropped 2c to 95c. Timor fell 5c to 35c, while Bridge and Basin dropped 1c each. Magellan put on 2c to 194 c, and A.A.O. finned 3c to 128 c. B.H.P. eased 5c to 1300 c, and E.Z.I. dropped the same amount to 320 c. Carlton fell 10c to 370 c and Carlton Z shares dropped 12c to 370 c. Comalco rose 10c to 345 c,

and Philip Morris firmed the same amount to 820 c. Myer and Coles also gained marginally.
